Find answers to common questions about our sewing cruises so you’ll know exactly what to expect before you sail.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: How much time will I have for sewing/crafting on board?
This depends on the itinerary you choose, but we have prioritized sailings with multiple sea days, where you will have open access to the sewing room. There may also be open hours on port days. (TBD)
Q: What is the sewing room setup like?
We have a large room with enough space for 30 tables so everyone can have their own table and space! There will also be community ironing and cutting stations available.
Q: What kind of projects will we be working on?
A: This is a relaxed, free-sew and needlecraft retreat - bring along whatever you enjoy working on, whether it’s sewing, knitting, or another favorite craft. In addition to open studio time, we’ll also offer a few optional classes and group projects, so you can learn something new or simply create at your own pace.
Q: Do I need to bring a sewing machine or supplies?
Yes - please bring your own sewing machine and the supplies you’ll need for your personal projects. We’ll provide a dedicated craft room with tables and power, and you’ll have plenty of space to spread out and work comfortably.
Q: What about scissors or other sharps? Can I bring these craft tools on board?
Yes, but many of these common needlecraft tools are considered “restricted items” by the cruise line and require approval prior to sailing. This includes scissors of any size, rotary cutters, seam rippers, stilettos, knitting needles, crochet hooks, embroidery needles, pins, and similar sharp or bladed items.
We’ll handle the approvals on your behalf and provide clear instructions on how to pack and present these items at embarkation.
You’ll be asked on your registration form to indicate which tools you may want to bring - even if you haven’t chosen your projects yet, please select all that MIGHT apply so we can ensure everything is approved in advance.
Q: Will there be instruction or workshops?
There will be a selection of optional classes and workshops offered during the cruise. Participation is completely up to you - join in to learn something new, or enjoy open studio time to focus on your own projects. Either way, our hosts and fellow crafters will be nearby to share ideas, answer questions, and cheer you on.
Q: Can non-crafters come along?
Absolutely! Many guests bring spouses, family members, or friends who don’t sew. They’ll enjoy all the regular cruise activities and entertainment while you spend time in the craft room - and they are welcome to join us to try a craft as well!
Q: Will there be supplies available on board?
This is a "Just the Table" retreat - we provide the crafting space (and a community cutting table and pressing table) and you bring everything else you need for your project from home.

Q: What is an Infinite Veranda stateroom? (Edge-Class ships only)

Solo staterooms with an Infinite Veranda are also available.
Q: Can I book a room category that isn’t listed (like a suite)?
Yes. While our published rates show the most common stateroom categories held in the group block, other categories - including suites - may be available. Just let us know your preference, and we’ll confirm current pricing and availability.
